Calvary Acilia
E la testimonianza è questa: Dio ci ha dato la vita eterna, e questa vita è nel Suo Figlio (1 Giovanni 5:11)
Sono passati quasi tre mesi dall'11 febbraio, da quando cioè abbiamo iniziato questa nuova avventura di fede. È davvero fantastico poter servire nel mio quartiere, a pochi passi da casa, anche se è stato un po' difficile lasciare i nostri amici di Calvary Chapel Roma.
Comunque siamo davvero contenti del locale che abbiamo a disposizione. Ha tutto quello che ci serve in questo momento: è abbastanza ampio da ospitarci tutti comodamente, c'è parcheggio in abbondanza, abbiamo una stanzetta per i ragazzi (anche se preferiscono quasi sempre stare fuori), e poi naturalmente si trova all'interno di un parco pubblico e si presta per attività all'aria aperta come feste, concerti, sport ecc. L'unica nota negativa è che dobbiamo montare e smontare portando le cose a casa ogni volta, e naturalmente il fatto che è un po' trascurato e viene lasciato spesso sporco dalle altre persone che lo usano.
Ora vogliamo crescere. Vogliamo sviluppare i nostri doni e le nostre chiamate nella musica, nell'insegnamento, nelle attività per ragazzi, nel condividere il Vangelo, in tutto quello che il Signore ha in mente per noi e per questo quartiere.
A proposito, ora ci chiamiamo Calvary Acilia e siamo ufficialmente la nona Calvary Chapel in Italia. La foto sotto è stata scattata durante un ritiro che abbiamo fatto tutti insieme qualche giorno fa. È bello sentirsi parte di un'opera nuova che Dio sta facendo nella nostra nazione!

Calvary Acilia
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son (1 John 5:11)
Almost three months have passed by since February 11th, when we have started this new venture in faith. It's really fantastic to be able to serve in my neighborhood, a few steps from home, even if it has been a little bit hard to leave our friends of Calvary Chapel Rome.
Anyway, we are very happy of our place. It has everything we need in this moment: it's big enough to host us all comfortably, there's plenty of parking, we have a little room for kids (they prefer to be outside all the time), and of course it's in the middle of a public park and it is fit for events like parties, concerts, sport and so on. The only thing is that we have to set up and down and bring our staff home every sunday, and the fact that it is neglected and often left dirty by other people that are using it.
Now we want to grow. We want to develop our gifts and callings in worship, teaching, kid's ministry, sharing the Gospel, in all that the Lord has in mind for us and for this area.
By the way, now our name is Calvary Acilia and we are officially the ninth Calvary Chapel in Italy. The picture below has been taken during a retreat that we had all together a few days ago in Tuscany. It is awesome to be part of a new and fresh work that God is doing in our nation!
